Scenica Player provides a versatile solution for transforming an iPad or iPhone into an effective on-set player screen. Capable of displaying video loops, NDI streams from the local network, and static images, this application offers remote control capabilities that allow for synchronized operation with other players.

PERFECT REMOTE CONTROL

While Scenica Player is functional as a standalone application, its full potential is realized when used in conjunction with Scene Maestro. Through a Mac on the network, users can:

• Create presentations that seamlessly integrate video, image, and NDI layers.
• View live edits on connected players in real-time.
• Trigger simultaneous transitions across all players or selected groups.
• Modify playback and color settings as needed.
• Scrub through videos across multiple players concurrently.

This remote control functionality performs effectively over Wi-Fi, as files are pre-delivered to each player prior to playback. As a result, minimal bandwidth is required for command transmission post-content push.

COLOR CORRECTION

To ensure images align with surrounding lighting conditions, color settings can be adjusted remotely in two ways:

• Via Scene Maestro, where users can access the color settings in the Screen inspector to modify the white point, black point, color balance, temperature, tint, vibrance, saturation, brightness, and contrast.
• Through Gamma Board for local playback adjustments within Scenica Player that include white point, black point, and color balance modifications.

PLAYBACK SETTINGS

Scenica Player accommodates various playback scenarios. If a screen is rotated or viewed through a mirror, image adjustments can be made accordingly. In cases where content does not align perfectly with screen dimensions, three resizing modes are available: fit to screen, fill the screen, or stretch to edges disregarding aspect ratio.

The Proximity Blackout feature on iPhone conveniently turns off the display while the device is held to the ear, facilitating discreet phone calls without interruption.

NDI PLAYBACK

Scenica Player enables playback of content sourced from NDI endpoints available on the local network, including live cameras and video software with NDI outputs. For optimal performance during NDI playback, it is advisable to utilize a gigabit Ethernet connection; pairing an iPad with a USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet adapter yields the best results. SETUP

The application requires internet connectivity solely for the initial installation and unlocking process. Thereafter, Scenica Player functions effectively without ongoing internet access.

UNLOCKING

An in-app purchase is necessary to unlock Scenica Player and remove any watermarks. Separate purchases are required for each device on which the player is installed. Users have the option to transfer purchases between devices by creating a Scenica account or can store them within their account for future use.
